Service Description


Family Start is free home visiting service for whānau who have vulnerabilities and are either expecting a pepi or have a young pepi under 12 months of age. 

 

The programme aims to improve the whānau overall circumstances

This service is designed to assist you with your new born child to give your whānau the best possible start in life together. Family Start is able to work alongside and support the whānau up until the child is 5 years old.

If you live in the Hutt Valley and have a pepi under the age of 12 months and can tick any of the following you can access Family Start.


• teenage mother
• relationship issues
• family violence
• SIDS Risks
• minimal, late or no ante natal care
• unsupported parent
• parenting/bonding problems
• social stresses
• social isolation
